How the subscription checkout process works with Polar.sh

Checkout Process

OpenClaw uses Polar.sh as the payment provider. When you subscribe to a plan or purchase AI credits, you are redirected to a secure Polar.sh checkout page.

Subscribing to a Plan

Select a Tier

Choose your plan from the billing page or the onboarding wizard:

TierPriceMessages/monthVM Resources
Basic$30/mo3,000e2-small (2 vCPU, 2GB)
Pro$60/mo5,000e2-medium (2 vCPU, 4GB)
Ultra$200/mo10,000e2-highcpu-4 (4 vCPU, 4GB)

Complete Payment

You are redirected to Polar.sh where you can:

  • Enter credit/debit card details (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
  • Use Apple Pay or Google Pay
  • Use bank transfer or SEPA Direct Debit (EU)

Return to Portal

After successful payment, you are automatically redirected back to the OpenClaw Portal. The system verifies your subscription — this takes a few seconds.

Free trial users still need to enter payment details. The card is not charged until the 7-day trial ends.

Purchasing AI Credits

When you need extra messages beyond your tier limit:

  1. Navigate to Billing in the Portal
  2. Select a credit pack:
    • 10 credits — $1.49
    • 20 credits — $2.79
    • 30 credits — $3.99
    • 40 credits — $5.19
  3. Complete checkout on Polar.sh
  4. Credits are added to your balance immediately

1 credit = 1 additional message. Credits never expire.

Checkout from Onboarding

During the onboarding wizard, the checkout flow works the same way but redirects you back to the onboarding wizard (instead of the billing page) so you can continue setting up your bot.

Payment Security

  • All payments processed through Polar.sh's PCI-compliant infrastructure
  • Card details are never stored on OpenClaw servers
  • SSL/TLS encryption on all checkout pages

Troubleshooting

Payment was charged but subscription not showing: Wait up to 5 minutes for webhook processing. If still missing, contact support@raiclaw.ai with your transaction details.

Checkout page not loading: Ensure your browser allows third-party cookies for polar.sh. Try disabling ad blockers temporarily.

Card declined: Check with your bank. International transactions may need to be enabled for cards outside the payment provider's region.
